Infection Masquerading As Spontaneous Tumor Lysis Syndrome

Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is a life-threatening condition due to malignant tumor cell resulting in severe metabolic derangements that require prompt recognition and management prevent progression end-organ damage death. This case describes patient presenting with clinical laboratory abnormalities complicated by multi-organ dysfunction concerning spontaneous TLS from suspected undiagnosed malignancy. The had an unremarkable malignancy workup was ultimately diagnosed endocarditis, which improved treatment of the infection. Therefore, this demonstrates systemic infections may rarely present resembling TLS.
